DURA-MAX 5000 carbide is a hard, abrasion resistant, sub-micron grain carbide with excellent edge and corner retention. This grade is recommended for cutting abrasive materials without an interrupted cut. TiN is an excellent general purpose PVD coating for cutting most materials. TiN provides excellent wear resistance and allows increased cutting rates. TiN increases lubricity at the cutting edge which reduces galling and welding.
